Reporting templates

NOPTA has developed reporting templates for submitting the annual title assessment report (ATAR) and monthly production reports.

Templates on this page relate to the reporting requirements under the:

  • Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2025 (RMA Regulations)
  • Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Resource Management and Administration) Regulations 2011 (RMA Regulations 2011)

Remade RMA Regulations commence on March 2026

The remade 2025 RMA Regulations, commencing 31 March 2026.

There are new reporting requirements and templates for:

  • Annual title assessment reports (ATARs)
  • Monthly production reports (MPRs)
  • Greenhouse gas accounting and injection reports.

We’ve published new updated templates that align with the changes which take effect on 31 March 2026. The templates:

  • clarify requirements
  • improve consistency in reporting
  • ensure compliance with the 2025 RMA Regulations.

The design and implementation of the templates included industry consultation.

Under section 32 of the 2025 RMA Regulations, titleholders must use the approved templates for submitting ATARs.

Please note: For each title or combined group of titles (if approved), you must submit both the MS Word template and the Excel file to generate a complete ATAR.
