Greenhouse gas
The Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006 establishes a title system for the assessment, injection and storage of greenhouse gas (GHG) substances in geologic formations in Commonwealth offshore areas.
A GHG assessment permit authorises the permittee to explore in the permit area for potential GHG storage formations or injection sites.
The current active GHG assessment permits can be found on NEATS.
For further information on the GHG acreage release process or information on application types other than GHG assessment permits, please contact NOPTA.
