NEATS info

The National Electronic Approvals Tracking System (NEATS) provides access to publicly available information concerning offshore petroleum titles and applications. NEATS has been designed with the end user in mind and NOPTA hopes that users will find NEATS easy to navigate between the different features.

NEATS aims to deliver transparency to both industry and the public, as well as a single source of up to date information on offshore petroleum titles and applications.

NEATS includes a Public Portal which provides access to some of the information held within the Titles Register (NEATS is not the official Titles Register. Please contact titles@nopta.gov.au to request to search the titles register) and application tracking. Titleholders also have access to an Secure Portal allowing titleholders and applicants to submit applications and relevant Legislative Forms (2-7) and track the progress of applications.

NEATS portal upgrades

Based on feedback from NOPTA’s biannual stakeholder survey, and to align with NOPTA’s Strategic Plan priority of Integrating Data and Technology, NOPTA is currently preparing to make enhancements to the NEATS portal to streamline interactions with NOPTA.

Key features that will be included in the build:

• Single point of entry for NOPTA related activities including payments and applications (reporting and data submissions are planned for a future phase)
• Enhanced user experience, with the ability for NOPTA and titleholders to communicate through the portal
• Digital signature technology.

NOPTA has created various user groups to help advise on functionality requirements for the portal and to assist with testing and training.
