NOPTA information session: petroleum title dealings

Petroleum industry representatives, external legal advisors and community stakeholders are invited to an information session on petroleum title dealings.

In response to recent industry and legal enquiries, NOPTA staff invite you to a discussion on the requirements for approval and registration of petroleum title dealings in the petroleum titles register, including:

• the legal effect of approval and registration of a petroleum title dealing
• using the petroleum titles register as part of asset acquisition due diligence
• considerations relating to registration of dealings for derived titles
• consequences of the registration of a sale and purchase agreement as a dealing on an application for approval for a transfer of title interests arising from that sale and purchase agreement.

Stakeholder questions submitted may also be used as the basis of a FAQ entry on dealings on NOPTA’s website.

Questions that are not submitted in writing before 12 August 2019 may not be able to be answered at the information session.
