Review of offshore petroleum mining samples

A review of the future management of petroleum mining samples aimed at improving business processes and providing clarity for new submissions is currently being undertaken. Geoscience Australia is assisting NOPTA in this project and more information about this review can be obtained from the sample management.

As security systems are still being installed in the Perth office, NOPTA can not yet accept data submissions via courier. Please continue to use the mailing address or personal deliveries for data submissions.

Draft amendments to the Guidelines for Reporting and Submission of Petroleum Data to reflect recent regulatory changes have been provided to the Petroleum Data Consultative Group (PDCG) for consideration. Access to open file data

New open filing procedures are now in place between NOPTA and participating states. Newly open file data will be available via GA, WAPIMS (WA) and Tasmania (online) within a few business days after the relevant day for release.

A national well and survey register listing nominal dates for the public release of data is currently being developed and will soon be available from the NOPTA website.
