Guideline Consultation: Short term petroleum titles (SPA/AA)

The National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator, together with the Offshore Resources Branch, in the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, are pleased to invite comments on the updated ‘Special Prospecting Authorities, Access Authorities (AA) & Scientific Investigation Consents (SIC): A guideline in relation to the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006’.

Consultation is open now and submissions will be welcomed from Tuesday 27 September 2016 until Tuesday 25 October 2016.

The draft guideline can be accessed through the department’s consultation hub.

This is part of a broader process of reviewing existing offshore petroleum guidelines to ensure clear guidance to stakeholders.

Please note that the updated guideline does not reflect any regulatory change or reform on SPAs, AA, or SICs. It is also not intended to be part of the assessment of the framework governing oil and gas resource management in Commonwealth waters currently occurring as part of the department’s Offshore Petroleum Resource Management Review.
