An infrastructure licence authorises the licensee to construct and operate an infrastructure facility in an offshore area. Common examples of when an infrastructure licence is needed include:
floating LNG or conversion to methanol
if the production facility is located outside of the production licence area, or
if the ownership of the production facility differs from that of the underlying production licence.
